Serious Work writing and research has gradually replaced any joy for fic writing and - which is kind of worse - reading of all sorts (be it published literature, non-fiction or fanfic). The kicker is I have so many ideas floating around in my head, it's just that my mind is constipated and twisting itself into a knot.

The post-Tumblr world?

So most of Tumblr's staff got fired, the skeleton crew is using AI to label posts as mature - and to the surprise of absolutely no one, there are more false-positives than anything else while literal pornbots linger untouched. It looks bad, feels bad... so much will be lost unless people back up their blogs. (I tried to... but it's ten years old. I had an easier time getting my entire Twitter data sent to me.)

If it really comes to this, I might switch to here for good - which would also cut back drastically on my online time, so maybe that's not too bad? Maybe making meta posts and talking about my obsessions on main in original posts would make me stop being a fandom lurker - not too bad either.

In any case, my Bluesky will probs become more fannish (it's far too pol-heavy as of now, and I don't really want to go full pol online anymore).

Either way, this account has been neglected for far too long and only dusted off to post prompts for fic exchanges. If it were a pet, I'd give it some consolidating scritches.

BARTIMAEUS SEQUENCE

The Bartimaeus novels have been with me for roughly fifteen years and have really been one of the most impactful books for me that I read in childhood. One thing that I'd love to see in whatever you write for this, if it is set in the past, is worldbuilding! Go full in with the historical facts!

Honorius (solo)

I really really love Honorius. For what it's worth with his limited time in the books, I think he might easily be one of my favourite spirits in there. He's so tragic and wonderfully doomed and he's the first taste of what we get when it comes to the hybrids and how, really when it comes down to it, even when freed of pain, spirits suffer on Earth.

Potential prompts:

all those years that he spent locked up in Gladstone's tomb, what was he thinking off and contemplating?
him serving Gladstone, who was an exceedingly cruel magician, what was that like?
Honorius's backstory, preferably involving his assumed stint in Rome (he is literally called Honorius, sooo)
Faquarl knew of him and was clearly inspired by Honorius's example for his great master plan… what would have happened, had Honorius lived until then and joined the Spirit Rebellion?

Faquarl

Faquarl has pretty much always been my favourite among all characters from the original books. He's a foil to Bartimaeus as a very similar spirit to him who also has a drive and a vindictive streak that Bart… very much doesn't. There's also the high implication that he has exclusively served quite awful masters which coloured his view on humanity as a whole.

Potential prompts:

how did Faquarl come to go by "of Mycenae" or "of Sparta", what happened for him to prefer these suffixes to Jericho, where he was technically first summoned?
Faquarl's stint of serving Odysseus and accompanying him on his travels
really, any original concept of Faquarl serving one of his former magic in historical times, I would eat it up

Ammet and/or Khaba

These two have been my Bartimaeus OTP for… the better part of ten years now? I always come back to them, no matter what happens. Evil, ambitious and sadistic magician who hates everyone besides One Spirit and evil, all-powerful and sadistic spirit who hates everyone besides One Human? The whole "I walk behind him as a friend and counsellor in all things, because among all living things, I am his only friend"? Khaba not binding Ammet at all and giving him so much freedom that he is technically not even bound if you compare him to literally any other spirit with the exception of Bartimaeus with Ptolemy? I go bonkers. And speaking of Ptolemy and Bartimaeus: they really are basically a dark mirror to what arguably is one of the most important relationships/dynamics in the entire series. Feel free to make them as dark and fucked up as your heart desires.

Potential prompts:

a backstory for them, be it a solo for either up until the other showed up and then from his respective perspective, or from once they first met. I have my take on it, I've read on takes on it, and I always will love reading takes on it. That being said, I would also be interested in them separately, simply for the sake of seeing what they, especially Ammet, were/are like before their paths crossed. So, a backstory for Ammet, who according to himself was there when Egypt was first founded as a united kingdom and thus has been around for at least a good two thousand years would be really cool! Or Khaba's beginnings as an apprentice in the temple complex of Karnak!
their plotting in Jerussalem. They've been there for at least fifteen years, so this can be set at any point. Maybe they try to cut down some rivals, Ammet takes matters in his own hands, they indulge a bit in their fantasies as to what will happen once they have reached their endgame.

They're such a failcouple when the going gets tough, and a true package deal in the sense that if you separate them, they come down crashing like a house of cards. It was both hilarious to witness but also the fact that they never saw each other again is depressing [smile of a broken man.jpeg].

NEW KINGDOM OF EGYPT RPF

Taking a lot at all my prompts in total, I think it's safe to say I am in a huge Ancient Egypt phase at the moment, be it the general historical time period (which, yes, I know spans three thousand years) or the mythology.

The one thing I'd ask for with these prompts, as with the Ancient Egyptian Religion prompt, is not take your sources about this from popular modern media, namely The Mummy, the Rick Riordan books, or the Ennead webcomic.

Meriaten and Nefertiti

One of Egypt's most famous queens and her first-born daughter! The Amarna period is very dear to me, and I would love to read something about their relationship. Judging by Meriaten's (and her sisters') prominence in Amarna artwork, it's very clear how much her parents loved her and that there took front stage and centre along with them when it came to the portrayal of Akhenaten and Nefertiti as King and Queen of Egypt.

How was life during Akhenaten's reign for them? Did something change when Meritaten was made a Great Royal Wife when Smenkhkare ascended as Akhenaten's co-ruler? What about when Nefertiti took over after her husband's death and ruled as Neferneferuaten?

Hatshepshut and Senenmut

Call me a tinhead, but I'm one of these people who fully believes that Hatshepshut and Senenmut were an item back in the day. He was clearly her favourite official with how high he rose during her reign, and the fact that he was very close to Hatshepshut's daughter Neferure suggests there was at the very least a great friendship among them, possibly even more. I personally go with more, because it's more fun :^)

I can imagine that maybe it wouldn't have been the best for them to be "official" and open about their relationship for whatever reasons there are, but still didn't quell the gossip considering those raunchy graffiti people drew of them together and in connection with that, the apparently rather chauvinistic interpretation of their relationship.

Still, I'm a romantic, and while we will never know for certain, the idea that several millennia ago, there was a real and great love between these two people is very lovely to me.

GODSLAVE

Godslave is a webcomic written, illustrated and coloured by Meghan Carter that is available in its entirely on hiveworks. You can start reading it here: godslavecomic.com/comic/chapter-one

In a short summary, Godslave is about a young woman, Edith Delacruz who during a museum visit happens to break open a canopic jar. Imprisoned in this canopic jar was the Egyptian god Set in a depowered state after the other gods deemed him too dangerous to be around. Edith finds herself in the middle of a pantheon family freud and while she wants nothing to do with this at the beginning, she ends up being properly pulled into the conflict between Set and his nephew Heru.

I discovered this while browsing the Tumblr tag for Ancient Egypt and read it within two weeks. It's beautifully illustrated, the story is thrilling, and I love the characters a whole lot! Sadly it has zero works so far on AO3 and seems to be quite niche, but maybe this request will have a few people read it and also discover their love for it.

Edith/Heru

In a way, Heru is just as much as a pawn as Edith is, despite being powerful compared to her. Chapter 5 shows this in a great way, and I'd love there to be a exploration of that. I will say here that I really do ship them with a lot of fervour, especially since Meghan Carter said that in one of the first drafts of Godslave, Edith and Heru were a couple! Their confrontation and the way each left a mark on the other really was the kickstarter for me that made me go "Oh, there totally is a vibe between these two, and I love it."

If you read this comic and think the same as I do… I'd love to see it. :)

Heru (& Set or Djehuty)

When I began reading this, I really wouldn't have thought that Heru would turn out to be one of my favourites in this. Guess I just love it when typically heroic characters are actually cast in the antagonist role and given struggles and moral greyness. Heru is kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place at all times, while at the same time he's very fervous in acting against Set (for obvious reasons). His mother kinda has her heel on his neck, he wants autonomy while also not wanting to break the cycle… it's quite the dilemma he is in. His relationships with Djehuty, Set (spoiler alert: they have four children together), and his mother Aset are so fascinating to me as well. If this inspired you in some way or another, I'd be over the moon.

Djehuty (& Heru)

Djehuty is such an enigmatic figure, and while it's highly implied he is the true power behind Heru, it's questionable what his actual goals are. That's part of what makes him so fun to me! Who is he working with, is he all on his own and actually running the show, does he serve the Cycle rather than any particular god? Djehuty (or Thoth, as the average person would know of him) had the role of the gods' counsellor and maintainer of balance in the universe, so a pretty big deal! He seems to be pretty close to Heru, either as an advisor or mentor (perhaps in a way even replacing his father Ausir as a paternal figure), so this is another interesting angle. Anything centred on him, his dynamic with Heru and perhaps even Aset, would make me really happy!

ANCIENT EGYPTIAN RELIGION

Set

Set is pretty much one of my favourite gods in the Egyptian pantheon, in part because he brings together so many aspects, sometimes even contradictory! Despite of the complicated relationship with his family, he still firmly fights on the side of order alongside them and Ra against Apophis despite technically being a chaos deity. He is the god of the desert (the red lands) but also of the oasis, so not just of the hostile inhabitable land but also the patches where people flock to. He is the god of foreigners but was worshipped by the more militaristic rulers of Egypt like Seti I and Ramesses II who prayed to him for support when they fought their enemies. He's so multifaceted, it's a joy.

The one thing I'd ask for with these prompts, as with the New Kingdom RPF prompt, is not take your sources about this from popular modern media, namely The Mummy, the Rick Riordan books, or the Ennead webcomic.

Potential prompts:

The Contendings of Horus and Set; the classic and one hell of a story! Don't even get me started about the lettuce incident!
Set and Nephtys: there's so little to their relationship in sources despite them being married – hell, there's so little about Nephtys as a whole! I'd like to know more about their dynamic, how their marriage was like and how it came to be, why Nephtys takes her Osiris and Isis's side in the conflict, and how does Anubis even fit into that?
Set's view on the mortals who worship him, or mortals as a whole. There were some pretty prominent figures (read: the Ramessid dynasty) who were huuuuuge fans of Set to the point where they even honoured him in their name – what were Set's thoughts on that?
Set's place in the pantheon as a whole. What does he actually Do in his day to day? Along with that, any elaboration on his relationship with his siblings Osiris and Isis, Ra (who backed him during the contendings, since Set was the most powerful god around and thus an ideal king!), perhaps even his wives Anat and Astarte, the other major gods, his role as a warrior who fights against Apophis, the whole nine yards!

Please do stick to info that's not from popular modern media based on Egyptian mythology such as f.e. The Mummy, the Rick Riordan books, or the Ennead webcomic.

JUPITER ASCENDING

The Abrasax Family

I’ve seen this film by complete coincidence a couple of years ago but oh my god, was I obsessed with it and the Abrasax clan for the longest while. What an utterly messed-up family of immortal rich people who all too gladly built their entire wealth on the reaping of entire planets. And they’re so utterly delightful in their fuckedupness, how they’re all sort of… pathetic failures, and with their lingering codependence on their dead mother, especially Balem! Perhaps Seraphi just died and the siblings have come together to commemorate her death; is Kalique (and Titus; yes, I know he is not part of the nominated characters, but feel free to include him as well, to round out the cast so to say) able to tell that Balem is the one who killed her because she just knows him that well? Is there infighting among the siblings because they’re fighting for the scraps left behind by Seraphi? Are they thinking about the ‘good’ times they might’ve had with their mother, and how was their relationship as a whole? Or a look into the times when Seraphi was still alive, with a special focus on her relationship with Balem and Kalique onto whose life she apparently had such a tremendous impact on and with how psychosexually charged the dynamic with Balem and Jupiter is, partially because he basically just sees her as Seraphi. Plus, Titus was 100% down to marry a woman who’s the reincarnation of his mother, but this is not about him, although it still shows the Abrasax men are insane about their mum).

The preferred ship for this is Balem x Seraphi, although I would love to see it co-exist with Kalique/Seraphi. Whether you prefer to explore Balem & Kalique or Balem x Kalique is entirely up to you, both are equally fascinating to me.

THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES

Coriolanus/Lucy Gray

OH, my sweet OTP! Something about the utter tragedy of them, how they rarely only ever had the smallest chance at happiness, how Coryo's paranoia, obsessions, and ambition ruined it all, and how they bonded in the first place, it all just hits every single marks! The possibilities with them are endless: Does their relationship flourish? Does it sour but they're still in this toxic relationship where they hate what the other has become but they also have very intense feelings for each other? Do they get married, or, if they're at the Capitol, does Lucy Gray become something like a Madame de Pompadour-esque figure who has influence over her husband?
And please, do not refer to Lucy Gray as "Lucy" at any point.

Faquarl x Kitty

Oh, I'm utterly obsessed with the potential these two have, if they had ever interacted properly. They're so similar in their fervour for getting back at the magicians for how they and those like them have been treated by them, both of them revolutionaries who actually act on their desire to make a change in the world and for the best of their people. While Kitty is unsuccessful in Golem’s Eye, given how her friends get killed, Faquarl’s plan goes horribly right and he does lose himself in the desire to hurt his enemies instead of helping his fellow spirits and even begins to relish in being human now. and Kitty actually joins forces with a magician to save the people the spirits want to rampage against who are not even at fault of their treatment at the hands of magicians.

Potential prompts:

The Spirit Revolt succeeds and Kitty has to survive the new world where the hybrids rule Britain as she is kept prisoner by Faquarl, while the two form a curious bond

Faquarl survives the Spirit Rebellion while Kitty is too cynical at whatever happens politically in London to be invested, so through circumstances she and Faquarl become uneasy allies

an AU where they met up before the events of Ptolemy's gate. How would Faquarl react if Kitty told him about humans and spirits being very alike?

DUNE

Jessica & Feyd-Rautha &

As a humble villain enthusiast, I absolutely love the Harkonnens in their vileness, how absolutely despicable they are, and the utterly messed-up dynamics between them.

Since Jessica is the Baron's daughter, I'd really love to see that being explored in an AU where she did grow up as a member of House Harkonnen while still being a Bene Gesserit. Would she be Siridar-Baroness and thus heiress instead of Feyd, is the Baron's misogyny and dislike of the Bene Gesserit even stronger so that he basically tries to cheat his only child out of her inheritance, or does he try to maneuver her around just like he did in canon with Feyd? How would life on Giedi Prime look like with three members of the New Gen running around, all fighting to stay on top through different means?

Consider this whole scenario as your playground where you can develop relationships as you desire, although I'm especially interested in those between Jessica and the Baron, Feyd and Piter, Piter and the Baron, and Jessica and Piter, who would still be in the Baron's service. In the case of the latter, I really love their rivalry and the obsession Piter has with Jessica in canon - where it's always a little unclear whether he is actually into Jessica or just really wants a chance at killing her. He's just such a fun and fascinating character as a Mentat-Assassin and his absolute lack of terror toward the Baron, totally here to question him openly despite the Baron being proven to be a quite dangerous man.

Feel free to bring as much politics into this, I love this sort of stuff!

Clemensia/Lysistrata

They have barely (if anything at all) interacted in the book, but I like to believe they were at least friends! A possible prompt might be Lysistrata visiting Clemensia while she's still recovering from the snakebite and the side effects it had on her, them bonding over the horrors they witnessed and perhaps their shared dislike for the Games. Since they're both still Capitolites, I don't expect them to have the full perception of the Games as people in the Districts would, so their pain focuses a lot of the trauma they witnessed and suffered from.

Potential prompts:

Lysistrata visits Clemensia during her recovery and they bond over the horrors they witnessed and their dislike for the Games

Provided Coryo doesn't have them killed in the very beginning, they are witnesses to the change in the Capitol and their (former) friend's rise to power. How does this affect them and their relationship?

Coriolanus/Lucy Gray

Tintenherz

True to form, I read this book in my formative years and immediately became obsessed with the Fire-Raisers, especially these two. Capricorn's attitude towards the world of something that only exists for him to rule and spread fear within and Basta's complete and unconditional love for him despite whatever personal hangups he might have had (I do admit, I somewhat do ignore the plot of the second and third book when it comes to Basta because the first book established he is not as horrible a person as all of the Fire-Raisers and Capricorn were) are just such a tasty morsel and I need there to be more that focuses on this disaster of a duo.

what they have been up to at the village

what they were up to back in the Inkworld

a deep dive into their extremely weird and toxic relationship that very much doesn't know if it's between a mentor and his student, a boss and his employee, or a father and his son (or even lovers? Just how darkly romantic is their perhaps-never-acted-upon sexual relationship? I leave that up to you, mystery writer.)

Danny Phantom

At the risk of sounding "unlike those other girls", what always interested me the most in Danny Phantom the show was Vlad and Vlad's relationship to Jack and Maddie. They just holds SO much potential that years after having watched this on my TV at home after getting home from school, I still wish the show wasn't just a kid's cartoon with an overt focus on comedy and a functional rip-off of superhero comics where the entire concept of a trio of three friends consisting of three dynamics between each other where one suffers from a traumatic accident and never sees them again until decades after was actually treated seriously and dealt with maturely. Vlad was always undoubtedly villainous (funnily enough, I watched DP years before I first got in touch with Marvel or DC, and figuring out that Vlad is basically Lex Luthor and Victor von Doom wrapped up in one guy was very funny and still kinda is) but also tragic, as was the entire way the College Trio dynamic deteriorated because of his actions. Jack and especially Maddie meanwhile were characters I felt never got a proper focus that they might have deserved or were even treated seriously in canon considering they are badass ghost hunters and brilliant inventors. Considering they live in a town that's haunted 24/7, they should be the celebrities of Amity Park and not be seen as overly zealous nutjobs.

Potential prompts:

Vlad "dies" after the lab accident in college and Maddie and Jack are heartbroken and partially become ghosthunters to avenge their best friend whose body disappeared from the morgue – since Vlad woke up in there again, transformed, and wandered off and ended in the Ghost Zone at some point – and they blame ghosts for it

the very V-shaped love triangle between the College trio from canon is strong on all sides, with Jack being in love with Vlad, Vlad being in love with Maddie, and Maddie being in love with Jack – whether it stays that way but they're all just unhinged for someone who doesn't see them in a romantic way or it envolves into an OT3 or we even get a flipped version of it from the timeline where Jack became a half-ghost... all of that would be so good

Vlad's 20 years as a half-ghost (the only half-ghost in the world ever!), there's surely a ton of stuff that happened there

I figured it would be best to just make one of these, seeing as my likes and dislikes don't really change a lot, and it's much easier to always have this post available during sign-ups instead of typing it in again and again and again.
I will be adding fandom-specific DNW and likes onto each request, if necessary.

As a humble villain enthusiast, I absolutely love the Harkonnens in their vileness, how absolutely despicable they are, and the utterly messed-up dynamics between them.
Since Jessica is the Baron's daughter, I'd really love to see that being explored in an AU where she did grow up as a member of House Harkonnen while still being a Bene Gesserit. Would she be Siridar-Baroness and thus heiress instead of Feyd, or is the Baron's misogyny and dislike of the Bene Gesserit be stronger so that he basically tries to cheat his only child out of her inheritance, or does he try to maneuver her around just like he did in canon with Feyd? How would life on Giedi Prime look like, with three members of the New Gen running around, all fighting to stay on top?
Consider this whole scenario as your playground where you can develop relationships as you desire, although I'm especially interested in those between Jessica and the Baron, Feyd and Piter, Piter and the Baron, and Jessica and Piter, who would still be in the Baron's service. In the case of the latter, I really love their rivalry and the obsession Piter has with Jessica in canon - where it's always a little unclear whether he is actually into Jessica or just really wants a chance at killing her. He's just such a fun and fascinating character as a Mentat-Assassin and his absolute lack of terror toward the Baron, totally here to question him openly despite the Baron being proven to be a quite dangerous man.
Feel free to bring as much politics into this, I love this sort of stuff!

ELYSIUM

Characters: Agent C.M. Kruger, Jessica Delacourt

How did Kruger come to work for Delacourt? He’s much older than most of the characters thanks to his cybernetics and Elysium tech, is something like that the case with Delacourt as well? It would make sense, seeing that she’s such a high-ranking member of Elysium’s elite. She justifies even the vilest acts with wanting to protect the people of Elysium but is ultimately only out for her own benefit, while Kruger is a man who operates almost entirely on his impulses and most violent urges - these villain combos are always so enjoyable to me. Feel free to make this as in-character for both of them as you wish, just two people being their own flavour of the absolute worst, one of them lawful evil and the other plain and simple chaotic.

JUPITER ASCENDING

I’ve seen this film by complete coincidence a couple of years ago but oh my god, was I obsessed with it and the Abrasaxes for the longest while. What an utterly messed up clan of immortal rich people who all too gladly built their entire wealth on the reaping of entire planets. And they’re so utterly delightful in their fuckedupness, how they’re all sort of… pathetic failures, and with their lingering codependence on their dead mother, especially Balem!
Perhaps Seraphi just died and the siblings have come together to commemorate her death; are Titus and Kalique able to tell that Balem is the one who killed her because they just know him and each other that well? Is there infighting among them because they’re fighting for the scraps left behind by Seraphi? Are they thinking about the ‘good’ times they might’ve had with their mother, and how was their relationship as a whole?
Or a look into the times when Seraphi was still alive, with a special focus on her relationship with Balem onto whose life she apparently had the most impact on and with how psychosexually charged the dynamic with Balem and Jupiter is, partially because he basically just sees her as Seraphi (never mind though that technically Titus was 100% down to marry a woman who’s the reincarnation of his mother…).

STAR WARS: THE BAD BATCH

I love all things to do with Star Wars animation, and TBB is no different. Crosshair pretty quickly became one of my all-time favourites and since I'm writing this while he still has only shown up in one episode of the new season, I'm in a serious withdrawal.
The most I'm interested in are his past relationship with Wrecker since they seem to have been the ones who got along the most, Wrecker was repeatedly shown to have Crosshair's back when they were still teammates, they joked around, and Wrecker took it quite personal that Crosshair stuck to the Empire. Potential prompts could be about their reunion when Crosshair inevitably rejoins the BB or an AU where Wrecker sticks with the Empire along with Crosshair (we did get a little glimpse of how the chip affected him).

Crosshair and Omega are pretty dear to me as well. I think it’s interesting that she saw him under the influence of the chip as something he couldn’t help but also came around to acknowledge that Crosshair simply had a not exactly pleasant personality and it wasn’t all just the chip that made him this way. Him saving her but because he owed it to her, not to Hunter or any of the BB, and her telling him that despite everything, he was still her brother as well… oh my god, my heart!

As for Hunter x Rafa, I really liked the little we saw of their dynamic in the episode where they met. Any exploration of a little romance between them would make me happy.

STAR WARS: NEW EXPANDED UNIVERSE

Back when they came out, I really enjoyed the new Thrawn trilogy a lot, with the final entry being my absolute favourite. As much as I love the relationship between Thrawn and Eli, seeing Eli in the Chiss Ascendancy was just so fascinating to me, and then I somehow finished the book and had the conclusion “Oh wow, I really like Ronan”. Something about him being kind of a twat who nevertheless was more than meets the eyes, smarter than he was given credit to, and his begrudging respect for Thrawn even though he is still ultimately loyal to Krennic were just so entertaining to me. And that he had to end up joining the Ascendancy as well since otherwise Vader would most likely kill him – he got his ass saved but also was really resentful over it!
So Eli isn’t alone anymore as the only human among the Chiss, but Ronan isn’t exactly enthusiastic about it, it’s very much a reverse Thrawn situation if Thrawn would be a lot more biased and unenthusiastic toward being a part of the Empire. Which is why i’d really like to see someone else’s take on this! Plus some exploration on Ronan's past, that would delight me a lot.

It’s been a few years since I read Bloodline, I’ll admit, but I really enjoyed Casterfo as both ally and somehow still rival to Leia. It’s a shame he fell to Carise Sindian’s machinations and that his personal hatred towards Vader due to being a literal slave on Riosa saw him oppose Leia and thus prepared his own downfall, and they only got one last farewell before Casterfo was shipped off to Riosa to presumably be executed! It’s just so grim and depressing, but somehow I really like the concept of them having had feelings for one another (I do remember that Leia considered the possibility of people thinking they were an item, with Casterfo being younger than her and handsome while she’s a veteran of the Galactic Civil War – sorry to Han, lol) so yeah, add that aspect to their dynamic and it makes everything just so much more tragic. And I’m a sucker for tragedy!

Daemon x Viserys

THESE TWO! I honestly to God am surprised the show was not at all subtle with the… can we even call it subtext when the co-creator of the show himself says Daemon’s love for Viserys is his biggest motivation for what he does? Anyway, no subtlety with regard to Daemon and Viserys, and of course there is the whole homoerotic implication with D’s relationship with Rhaenyra being a projection on Viserys, and I just love it (also love Daemyra as a separate entity, but the more messed up the relationships are, the more I am a fan of it, hehe).

I know it’s a common joke to say that all Daemon really wanted all along was to have been born a woman so he could be Viserys’s sister-wife and a warrior princess, basically Visenya reborn, so why not have him contemplate that and resent the world a bit for making him a man (in an interesting parallel to Rhaenyra wishing she had been born a man and thus free of the societal expectations of a woman?)?

Otto x Rhaenyra

To my surprise, they turned out to be my absolute favourite rarepair, but I guess I’m just weak for age gap ships where any party is manipulating the other. I do love the scenario where Rhaenyra tries to manipulate Otto because she rightfully recognises that he is the driving force behind Alicent and trying to name Aegon as heir, but also the concept of Otto not seeking to put Alicent’s kids on the throne but instead his own children - with Rhaenyra. Or maybe Rhaenyra shows mercy toward Otto after she and Daemon take over King’s Landing, and she chooses to keep him as her spoil of war, to demonstrate the true power of the House of the Dragon.

Mysaria x Larys

The Spymistress VS Spymaster potential of it could be SO interesting, so I’d love an exploration of it! They’re both the underrated political masterminds on their respective side who fought their way from the bottom of their respective food chains to the top of the Realm. Something about them being the ones who are truly able to see the other as a properly dangerous person and threat to their respective beneficiaries and developing a rivalry that very much borders on obsession is just so [chef’s kiss].

Alicent x Larys

Oh, my sweet sweet HOTD OTP! I unironically ship them to the moon and back, with all their problematic little canonical elements but also in the gothic romance way where Larys is Alicent’s unlikely dark suitor and she finds herself conflicted yet attracted to him, with a good old corruption arc and everything that belongs to it thrown in as well.

Given how tiny a ship it is, I’m happy to see people’s different takes on it. Don’t shy away from playing into the disturbing and manipulative aspects of their relationship, such as Larys (similarly to Otto) driving Alicent to become more ambitious (let’s be real, he has huge “I can make her worse uWu” vibes with regard to her, hehe), what some people might consider an uncomfortable age-gap, or, if you aren’t afraid of going into spoiler territory from what we know from the books, some things Larys might do in the future that aren’t exactly beneficial to Alicent and her cause, the fact that Larys is highly implied to be a greenseer (have prophetic dreams and be able to possess the minds of animals, which is what makes him such a formidable spymaster), or how Alicent might use her position as Queen to simply lord over Larys.

I still wish that the books had actually made them interact more than that one line, given how much these two characters parallel each other - both of them revolutionaries who actually act on their desire to make a change in the world and for the better of their people (commoners for Kitty, spirits for Faquarl), and while Kitty is unsuccessful in Golem’s Eye, given how her friends get killed, Faquarl’s plan goes horribly right and he does lose himself in the desire to hurt his enemies instead of helping his fellow spirits and even begins to relish in being human now!

I really want to see a take on them working together in an AU where Faquarl survives and Kitty doesn’t join the interim government because she believes it will be just as corrupt as the magicians’ rule. Alternatively, after the Spirit Rebellion succeeds, Faquarl decides to keep Kitty as a prisoner and they end up having an interesting bond after they realise they might have more in common than they would have thought - plus, Kitty does suggest to Bartimaeus at some point that spirits and commoners should band together to fight the magicians, which is laughed off, but how would Faquarl react to it?

Leta turned out to be my favourite character among the originals from the FB franchise and she really does deserve a special focus because her character is just so tragic, and in a way her willpower, her ambition, cunning, resourcefulness and how she embodies most of House Slytherin traits but in a “positive” way makes her such an interesting mirror to Tom. I don’t care as to how you make them meet, but just like with the Tom x Luna prompt, I’m accepting time-travel scenarios (although I’m leaving it open as to who does the time-travelling here).

Augustus Rookwood x Bellatrix Lestrange

This is PEAK rarepair, but I’m just fascinated by the potential dynamics between Death Eaters, regardless of what canon says. Voldemort’s lieutenant and his trusted spymaster, something about the combination of these two just makes me go wild. Yes, they probably hate each other because they see the other as a threat to be Daddy’s (take that with a sexual implication or not, hahaha) favourite, they probably work to sabotage the other but not enough because otherwise they might accidentally screw the entire Death Eater cause over. Feel free to make this as messed up, disturbing, and dark as possible, I’m handing you the reins on it.

Of course the original dynamic with Windblade as Starscream’s subordinate on the political sphere would be quite different, but I think it would be fun if that was sort of the backstory between them, and stretched far into the days of the Autobot-Decepticon War.

June x Megatron

Oh, June Darby, the woman who canonically put on heels to seduce Optimus Prime, what an icon. So of course my little brain took it a step further and began shipping her with Megatron - a crackship for the ages! I love some “The Decepticons kidnapped one of the human Autobot allies” plots, but given that June is a grown-up it would bring a different dynamic to the table than when, let’s say, the Cons kidnapped the three kids. How does June cope being prisoner to a giant alien warlord? She’s never been meek but also reasonably afraid when she was wrapped up in Airachnid’s webs, but when faced with Megatron? I would like to see it.

Starscream x Alexis Thi Dang

Now, I know that, just like Windblade, she doesn’t per say exists in the Prime Verse - but what if?

My Prime version of Alexis is very much inspired by her Armada counterpart, except she’s older (let’s say… late 20s? Early 30s? She has seen a bit) and actually followed up on her wish to be politically involved (she’s not exactly president yet, but definitely active).

This Starscream not only getting along with a human but also bonding with them would be an interesting take. Maybe they meet during Starscream’s stint as his own rogue agent, maybe when he’s still or again with the Decepticons.

Tis the season!!! Once again, it is that time of the year, and last year really had two amazing gifts for me, for which I'm beyond thankful toward my wonderful gifters. So, onto new territory!

New year, new obsessions, right? Well, yes and no. Some of it is old stuff I have been into for quite a long while (don't let that scare you though!) — others are very, very new.

As I like stories that are centred on the morally grey to villainous characters, I do enjoy a good amount of darkness in them. I appreciate a happy ending but an unhappy one isn’t going to distract me from enjoying the story. Rating-wise I’m happy with anything from T to E. I’m not picky and rather open-minded when it comes to fic, but I will list my likes wrt general content and smut below, as well as DNWs.

Language-wise, the story can be either in English or in German, as I’m proficient in both.

Request 1: House of the Dragon (TV)

Aemond “One-Eye” Targaryen (HOTD); Alicent Hightower (HOTD), Helaena Targaryen (HOTD), Larys Strong (HOTD)

Goddamnit, HBO, I swore to myself that I would never touch any adaptation of any of GRRM’s works ever again, and yet here we are, with this as my current obsession. Funnily enough, I started out as a huge fan of Daemon and Rhaenyra and a Daemyra shipper, but have gradually become Team Green — I just naturally gravitate towards the villains/characters the narrative isn’t rooting for, I suppose.

I have my Tumblr linked on here, so pretty much anyone can see that over the last couple of weeks, I have been obsessing over my two favourite characters from the show, Alicent and Larys. Their dynamic just hits on every single spot; I have a huge weakness for ambitious advisers having affections for the women they technically are in service to, the double-sided power imbalance going on between them, and the way their interactions have consistently coded as romantic since the scene in the Godswood before they went on to confirm that there was a canonical sexual component to them, even though I have my, to put it mildly, issues with their scene in the episode “The Green Council” (more to that below).

These are your sandbox basically! Given how tiny a ship it is, I’m happy to see people’s different takes on it. Don’t shy away from playing into the disturbing and manipulative aspects of their relationship, such as Larys (similarly to Otto) driving Alicent to become more ambitious (let’s be real, he has huge “I can make her worse uWu” vibes with regard to her, teeheehee), what some people might consider an uncomfortable age-gap, or, if you aren’t afraid of going into spoiler territory from what we know from the books, some things Larys might do in the future that aren’t exactly beneficial to Alicent and her cause, the fact that Larys is highly implied to be a greenseer (have prophetic dreams and be able to possess the minds of animals, which is what makes him such a formidable spymaster), or how Alicent might use her position as Queen to simply lord over Larys.

A filling of the gaps in-between the timeskips, particularly in between Ep05 “We Light The Way” and Ep06 “The Princess and the Queen”
Matthew Needham has said in a vulture interview that Larys feels affection for Alicent and how he is the only one who truly can relate to Alicent - which is so darkly romantic, when you think about it. But how does Alicent see it?
I am a sucker, and by that I mean I am obsessed with it, for a scenario where Alicent takes Larys as an earnest lover after Viserys’s death and they basically become dark versions of Queen Caroline Mathilde and Johann von Struensee.
Someone else, possible candidates could be Harwin, Criston, or even Otto, observes the relationship between them.

Onto my other favourite couple in this show that very much came out of the blue but has been implied by canon: Helaena and Aemond! Oh, how much I love them. The scene in “Driftmark” where Aemond expressed his wishes about wanting to marry Helaena instead of Aegon really opened my eyes to them. Aemond as a second son who manages to grab and hold every bit of power that comes his way, and Helaena as the somewhat smiled at outsider in the family who isn’t truly understood by anyone both are dear to me, so something about these two would really make my day.

There's the headcanon that at least one of Helaena's kids is Aemond's — what if that's not just a theory?
AU where they did get married — how does that change things?

Other potential scenarios I would enjoy that you can combine with either ship:

Helaena character study! What is her relationship with her family like, how is it to be the only person with dragon dreams and be pegged as the “weird one”?
To continue the focus on outsiders… How about a friendship between Helaena and Larys? Both of them have insect themes, (at least implied to have in Larys's case) the gift of prophecy with magic from two distinct branches, and are ignored b
An exploration of Alicent’s childhood and her relationship with her father. Otto is a fascinating character and while I do think he loves Alicent in his own way, none of it prevents him from hurting her or putting her in dangerous situations where she could be hurt or traumatised.
Alternatively, a dive into Larys's childhood! There's nothing that indicated his father saw him like Tywin did Tyrion, and he got along with his brother Harwin. How did his upbringing shape him and how did he get the worldview he presents in “The Princess and the Queen”?

Specific requests:

No overt focus on Larys’s disability in a negative shape or form that marks him as undesirable and “less of a man”. That was pretty much my biggest issue with the aforementioned scene and how it made Larys’s fetish all about his disability and while I would give a fic writer leeway with how to portray this, the way it was not done in a respectful manner on the show turned me off it completely.
No Team Black bashing with the exception of it being in-character. Tensions are high in this fandom, but I see enough mutual bashing on Twitter and Tumblr, I don’t need to see it on AO3 as well.

Request 2: Better Call Saul (TV)

Eduardo “Lalo” Salamanca (Better Call Saul), Ignacio “Nacho” Varga (Better Call Saul); Kim Wexler (Better Call Saul)

A fandom of olde!!! I was so happy to see BCS being nominated, so of course I had to take a chance at it.

I love going for rarepairs, and there are so many possibilities for Lalo, who is not just fun on his own but is arguably the most sickening seductive character in the entire show. His entire demeanour is off the charts, and I grew to have an unlikely favourite along Laloward, which became immensely popular (as far as rarepairs go): Lalo x Kim, because she had the guts to just stand up to him and tell him off to his very face, something we have seen no other character, especially not one with so little criminal power such as Kim.

And funnily enough, there’s my other favourite rarepair in the show, which is Kim x Nacho. I really mourn that we never got a scene with the two of them, especially since Rhea Seehorn and Michael Mando apparently got along really well, and I think their dynamic could've been a really interesting one.

Potential scenarios:

To ensure Jimmy’s compliance, Lalo takes Kim with him near the end of S5 and she, along with Nacho, go to Mexico to Lalo’s compound. Does she help him with his plan, is there a way she survives otherwise, is she on the run with Nacho and do they make it? Feel free to make it into a Kim x Lalo x Nacho scenario in which all three of them are equally a part of it.
Or, in a slightly darker version, Lalo succeeds with killing Gus and takes Kim with him to become a sort of involuntary Bonnie to his Clyde, but despite everything Kim grows to take a liking to this new life - and Lalo as well.
Instead of Jimmy, Kim is Lalo's lawyer for when he is posing as Jorge de Guzman.

Specific requests:

If you do have Lalo and/or Nacho speak Spanish, please make sure it's accurate. As someone whose second native language is Spanish, it can get a little irritating to see it badly written when inserted into fics, haha.

Request 3: Fire & Blood — George R.R. Martin

Aegon II Targaryen (F&B), Alicent Hightower (F&B)

I am fully aware that this is technically cheating via loophole abuse but the House of the Dragon tagset did not include Aegon 2. But for this one I would very much prefer to have the respective characters’ book personalities, so it would make the entire situation a bit different.

This is the part where I come out as an Aegon x Alicent shipper. Something about them, the way Alicent fixates on her eldest son and did everything to put and keep him on the throne, and how Aegon is an utter momma’s boy reliant on her support at every single turn is just so [makes jazz hands]. Feel free to get as nasty and unsettling as you wish to be. If you want to include some elements from the show to fill in the gaps in the book or get a better grasp on the characters, you’re more than welcome to do that. I’m giving you a sandbox and allowing you to play in it.

Request 4: Severance (TV)

Harmony Cobel (Severance); Helena Eagan (Severance); Helly R. (Severance); Mark Scout (Severance)

Oh Severance! It was one of the few shows I watched this year and hoo boy, am I blown away by how phenomenal it was! The vaguely futuristic setting in a world that is implied or on the verge of going utterly to shit fascinated me.

Helly and Cobel especially became my favourites, for different reasons: Helly in how strongly she reacts to the process of severance and is the first one to immediately and openly resists with drastic methods, and Cobel because she is so utterly devoted to not just Lumon but also Kier and the Eagans personally, and her… weird, to say the least, relationship with both Marks.

Potential scenarios:

Helly and Helena! What a shame these two can’t meet because what a moment that would be! The immense (self)hatred between these two! The stark contrast between their lives! The utter disregard Helena has for Helly that comes back to bite her in the ass? What is Helena’s experience with having to hand over the reigns to Helly, especially after the suicide attempt? What if Helena were to spend a day in Macro Data Refinement? Could there be a selfcest angle and how would it work?
A Cobel backstory would be amazing. There is nothing straightforward about her in canon, it is implied she grew up in an orphanage founded by the Eagans and that’s why she’s so devoted to them, but other than that, who is she? And what’s up with her relationship with Mark? There is definitely something messed up going on in there, be it between Cobel and Mark Scout or Cobel and Mark S.. Get into the nitty gritty of that, and (I said this before but I love to say it again) get as nasty and freaky as you like.

Request 5: 빈센조 | Vincenzo (TV)

Jang Han Seo; Jang Joon Woo | Jang Han Seok

Hello, my old love! Last year I also requested something for these two, and the author delivered wonderfully, but don’t let that stop you, mystery writer of 2022!

I plain and simply love the small and twisted Babel family (yes, I know they’re not all nominated, but feel free to include them!) Han Seok is entertainingly messed up, and the incestuous vibes between him and Han Seo are just [chef’s kiss].

Post-Canon where the brothers survive and have to navigate their lives after the fall of the Babel Group. Did Han Seo become friends with Vincenzo and Cha-Young? Is Han Seok back in jail or did Vincenzo plan a worse fate for him by letting him live?
If Han Seok does kill Han Seo like he did in canon, how does he feel about it? Feel free to go down the Flashback Road.

Request 6: Inglourious Basterds (2009)

Hans Landa; Shosanna Dreyfuss

It’s been 12 years since I first watched this movie and it is still one of my all-time favourites (yes, this is my filmbro moment, lol). It’s slightly ahead of Django Unchained and Kill Bill 1 in terms of favourite Tarantino movies, the dialogue is iconic, the cinematography stunning, and the acting! It truly was the movie that put Christoph Waltz on my radar even though he has been in movies I’ve seen before.

Shosanna and Landa are pretty much the most compelling characters in the movie to me, and yet I felt like there could’ve been more to them than what we got in canon with the strudel scene. He killed her family and then let her live on a whim, she built a new life, and exacted vengeance on the people responsible for the murder of her family and genocide on her people — except Landa.

A scenario where Shosanna didn’t end up getting shot by Zoller in the project room. Maybe she was taken in along with Aldo and Utivich? What are their interactions like, now that it’s Shosanna and not Emmanuelle and Landa has attempted to weasel his way into the Allies’ favour and succeeded?
Or maybe Shosanna goes looking for him after finding out he is still alive, determined to finish her vengeance.
It’s implied that Landa is fully aware of who “Emmanuelle Mimieux” really is, given the references he makes during their meeting. What are his thoughts on it?
